ABB DO840 Description

This module features 16 digital outputs, each capable of handling a maximum 

continuous output current of 0.5 A. The outputs are designed with current limiting 

and over-temperature protection to ensure safe and reliable operation. The 16 outputs 

are divided into two isolated groups, each containing eight channels, along with a 

voltage supervision input for each group.

Each output channel is equipped with a high-side driver that includes current limiting 

and over-temperature protection. Additionally, the outputs are safeguarded with 

EMC protection components, inductive load suppression, output state indication 

LEDs, and an optical isolation barrier. The module also offers advanced on-board 

diagnostics to monitor performance and ensure smooth operation.
