ABB DO880 Description

The DO880 is a 16-channel, 24 V digital output module designed for both single 

and redundant applications. Each output channel is capable of delivering a 

maximum continuous output current of 0.5 A. The module features 

current-limiting protection and is safeguarded against over-temperature conditions, 

ensuring reliable and safe operation.

Each output channel is equipped with a current-limited, over-temperature protected 

high-side driver, providing robust control for various loads. Additionally, the 

module includes EMC protection components to reduce electromagnetic interference, 

and inductive load suppression to protect the system when controlling inductive loads, 

such as motors or solenoids.

For easy monitoring, each output channel has an output state indication LED, providing 

a clear visual indication of the channel's status. Furthermore, the module incorporates 

an isolation barrier to the Modulebus, ensuring electrical isolation and enhancing 

the system's overall safety and noise immunity.

This combination of features makes the DO880 suitable for demanding applications 

where high reliability and protection against faults are critical.
