ABB TU843 Description

The TU843 MTU is designed to support up to 16 I/O channels and 2+2 process 

voltage connections. Each channel features two I/O connections and one ZP connection. 

The module is rated for a maximum voltage of 50 V and a maximum current of 3 

A per channel.

The MTU efficiently distributes the two ModuleBuses—one to each I/O module 

and to the subsequent MTU. It also generates the correct address for the I/O modules 

by shifting the outgoing position signals to the next MTU.

Mounting the MTU is straightforward, as it is designed to fit on a standard DIN rail. 

It features a mechanical latch that securely locks the MTU to the rail.

For configuration, the MTU uses four mechanical keys (two for each module), 

allowing it to be configured for different types of I/O modules. This configuration is 

purely mechanical and does not impact the functionality of either the MTU or the 

I/O module. Each key offers six positions, providing a total of 36 possible configurations 

for flexibility in module setup.
