BENTLY NEVADA 330851-02-000-060-10-00-00 Description

The 3300 XL 25 mm Transducer System includes a separate 25 mm probe, an 

extension cable, and a 3300 XL 25 mm Proximitor Sensor. With an output of 0.787 

V/mm (20 mV/mil), the system offers a linear measurement range of 12.7 mm 

(500 mils). This range makes the 3300 XL 25 mm Transducer System ideal for 

measuring differential expansion (DE) in mid-sized to large steam turbine generators, 

where DE results from the differing growth rates of the turbine rotor and the machine 

stator (casing).

The criteria for selecting a mounting method include the size of the available target, 

the expected rotor axial movement, and the type of differential expansion (DE) target 

present in the machine (collar versus ramp). If enough collar height is available, the 

preferred configuration is to use two transducers observing the same side of the collar. 

This setup provides redundant measurements, offering greater reliability and accuracy.

In comparison, selecting a mounting method based solely on the available space or 

rotor movement may not provide the redundancy and reliability needed for 

critical measurements. Using two transducers on the same side of a collar is typically 

more effective for monitoring differential expansion compared to other configurations 

that might only use a single transducer.
