The GE Fanuc IC697CPU731 CPU is part of the GE Series 90-70 product
line of components that are made to be connected as PLCs or programmable
logic controller systems. It is a single-slot CPU, which means that it only needs
to be installed in 1 slot in a PLC baseplate to stay securely in place and to
operate properly. The purpose of the IC697CPU731 CPU is to process the data
it receives from as many as 512 inputs and outputs that can be arranged in any
mix. It can also support 8000 analog I/O. The microprocessor that this CPU uses
is an 80C186 Microprocessor that is rated at 12 Mhz. The data and program
memory in the IC697CPU731 CPU can be configured by the users.
